- Lo sport -> Gli sport
- Lo yoga -> Gli yoga
- Lo yacht -> Gli yacht
- La mail -> Le mail
- La fiction -> Le fiction
- La leadership -> Le leadership
- La brioche -> Le brioche
The plural (-s) is most often retained in words of Spanish or Portuguese origin:
- Il desaparecido -> I desaparecidos
- Il viado -> I viados
- La telenovela -> Le telenovelas / le telenovele
The distinction between singular and plural is maintained for words that have recently entered the Italian language or that belong to sectoral languages:
- Il Lied -> I Lieder
- Il future -> I futures
- Il cadeau -> I cadeaux
- La joint-venture -> Le joint-ventures
