Ieri ho preso il treno per Roma per andare a trovare un amico. Il mio posto era vicino al finestrino, perfetto per guardare il panorama. Appena partiti, il treno ha attraversato la periferia della città, con i suoi palazzi alti e le fabbriche. Poi, siamo entrati in campagna. Ho visto tanti campi verdi, alcuni con mucche e pecore, e altri con file ordinate di alberi. C’erano anche piccoli paesi in lontananza, con le loro chiese antiche. Durante il viaggio, ho ascoltato della musica con le mie cuffie e ho letto un po’ di un libro. A un certo punto, ho avuto fame e sono andato al vagone ristorante per comprare un panino e un caffè. Tornato al mio posto, ho chiacchierato un po’ con la signora seduta di fronte a me. Dopo circa un’ora, il treno è entrato in una galleria lunga e buia. Quando siamo usciti, il paesaggio era cambiato: si vedevano già le colline di Roma. È stato un viaggio molto piacevole e rilassante.
English translation
In a train to Rome
Yesterday I took the train to Rome to visit a friend. My seat was by the window, perfect for looking at the scenery. Right after departure, the train passed through the city’s outskirts, with its tall buildings and factories. Then, we entered the countryside. I saw many green fields, some with cows and sheep, and others with neat rows of trees. There were also small towns in the distance, with their ancient churches. During the trip, I listened to music with my headphones and read a bit of a book. At one point, I was hungry and went to the restaurant car to buy a sandwich and a coffee. Back in my seat, I chatted a bit with the lady sitting across from me. After about an hour, the train entered a long, dark tunnel. When we came out, the landscape had changed: you could already see the hills of Rome. It was a very pleasant and relaxing journey.
