Viaggiare in traghetto
Ieri ho preso il traghetto per raggiungere l’isola di Ischia. Sono arrivato al porto molto presto, alle otto di mattina. Il traghetto era grande e bianco, con il nome scritto in blu. Dopo aver mostrato il biglietto, sono salito a bordo. Ho trovato un posto a sedere all’esterno, perché volevo vedere il panorama. Quando il traghetto è partito, il motore ha fatto un rumore forte e abbiamo cominciato a muoverci lentamente. Usciti dal porto, la barca ha accelerato. Il vento forte mi scompigliava i capelli, ma la vista era fantastica. Vedevo la città diventare sempre più piccola e le onde del mare blu che si rompevano sulla prua della nave. Durante il viaggio, alcune persone leggevano, altre mangiavano un panino comprato al bar interno. Io ho preferito guardare il mare aperto e i gabbiani che volavano dietro al traghetto. Dopo circa un’ora, all’orizzonte è comparsa l’isola. È stato emozionante vederla avvicinarsi poco a poco. Quando siamo arrivati, il traghetto ha suonato la sirena. Scendere è stato facile e veloce. È stata un’esperienza molto piacevole e rilassante.

Travelling by ferry
Yesterday I took the ferry to reach the island of Ischia. I arrived at the port very early, at eight in the morning. The ferry was large and white, with its name written in blue. After showing my ticket, I went on board. I found a seat outside, because I wanted to see the view. When the ferry departed, the engine made a loud noise and we began to move slowly. After leaving the port, the boat accelerated. The strong wind messed up my hair, but the view was fantastic. I saw the city becoming smaller and smaller and the blue sea waves breaking on the ship’s bow. During the trip, some people were reading, others were eating a sandwich bought at the internal bar. I preferred to look at the open sea and the seagulls flying behind the ferry. After about an hour, the island appeared on the horizon. It was exciting to see it get closer little by little. When we arrived, the ferry sounded its horn. Getting off was easy and fast. It was a very pleasant and relaxing experience.
