I. Funzioni e valori
The preposition CON indicates in its fundamental meaning a relationship of union and addition.
| Compagnia/unione Company/union | Non viaggio con te e con i tuoi amici, perché partono sempre con troppe valigie. I don’t travel with you and your friends, because they always leave with too many suitcases. |
| Mezzo/strumento Medium/instrument | Sono andato a Milano con la macchina. I went to Milan by car. |

Con + verb in the infinitive has the value of a gerund:
- Con lo sbagliare (sbagliando) s’impara.
- By making mistakes (by making mistakes) you learn.
- Ha finito con il dire (dicendo) tutta la verità.
- He ended up telling (telling) the whole truth.
